As the Founder and Chairman of Deeqa Group, he has transformed the enterprise into one of the largest and most diversified conglomerates in the Horn of Africa. Today, Mr. Nur's Group employs over 2,600 individuals and generates an annual turnover exceeding $150 million USD, with operations spanning logistics, construction, contracting, real estate, and infrastructure. Under his dynamic leadership, the group has become a symbol of excellence, innovation, and integrity in regional and global markets alike.
With more than 40 years of experience in civil engineering, Mr. Nur’s professional journey began with a remarkable act of transformation—converting a prison facility into a fully operational hospital, demonstrating his commitment to people-centered development. Throughout his illustrious career, he has worked with leading global institutions including the United Nations, UNICEF, WFP, UN OCHA, EUTM, MIA, UNSOS, and UNSOA, contributing to critical humanitarian and infrastructure initiatives across conflict-affected and developing regions.
